- PRINTING THE WORDPERFECT 6.0 MINI-MANUAL
- ----------------------------------------
-
- I recommend highly that you print out the WordPerfect 6.0 Mini-Manual
- on an HP LaserJet III printer. That is the printer I formatted the
- document for, and if you load the document into memory with the correct
- configuration all of the pagination, font, and margin options will
- remain correct. This means that the document will look very nice when
- you print it, and the document will not have to be re-generated to
- correct the table of contents and the index. If you do use another
- printer, be sure to choose the Generate command before you print it,
- once you've gotten all of the page breaks reset.
-
- If you are using an HP LaserJet III (or II, or IV, or IIp, it shouldn't
- matter much) you should move the cursor to the end of the document.
- The last page, the index, should be page number 76. (There are 80 pages
- in the document, but four pages occur before the page numbering resets
- to 1.) If the last number is not 76, you should scroll through the docu-
- ment and make sure there are no blank pages. If the last page number is
- 77, move the cursor up to page 56 and make sure the columns haven't spilled
- over into the next page. Sometimes I've noticed the columns seem to want
- to begin on page 57 instead of the middle of page 56, throwing off the
- pagination. To fix this, turn on reveal codes, place the cursor on top of
- the COL DEF marker at the beginning of the columns, then hit the backspace
- key. You won't erase anything, but the columns should move back to page
- 56. I think this is a glitch with the Balanced Newspaper Columns command.
-
- Please read the Author's Note in the document explaining the distribution
- of the manual, as well as information on ordering laser-printed hardcopies.
- Other than that, simply enjoy!
